Marilyn E. Trahin
Marilyn E. Trahin, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. Born in Fort Wayne, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Walter and Opal Bilcer. She graduated from North Side High School. She worked with United Technology in Columbia City for 18 years prior to retiring. Marilyn was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Arcola, Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Marilyn was very humble and gracious, along with the willingness to lend a hand to those in need. She enjoyed being social and entertaining her family and friends at her pool. Some of her hobbies were bowling, and of course playing with her pet dogs. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Dan (Brenda) Trahin, of Fort Wayne, Richard (Karen) Trahin, of Leo, John (Peggy) Trahin, of Larwill, Robert (Cindy) Trahin, of Columbia City, Tim Trahin and Rod (Kate) Trahin, both of Fort Wayne;18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Brudi; grandson, Kevin Brudi; and brother, James Bilcer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Arcola, with calling one hour prior with Msgr. Tad Balinda officiating. Calling is at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, Sunday, Jan. 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. with a rosary service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, Ind. The family would like to thank the staff at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla for their compassion and excellent care to their mother during her stay.
