Marilyn L. Spaulding
WOODSTOCK - Marilyn L. Spaulding, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Hanover, New Hampshire, the daughter of Norman and Marion (Luce) Jaycox. She graduated in 1955 from Woodstock High School, where she enjoyed skiing, softball and cheerleading. Later in 1955, she married Max "Bud" Spaulding. Mrs. Spaulding's career included secretarial positionw for Judge William Billings and attorney Thomas Debevoise of The Vermont Law School. She owned The Woodstock Corporation Real Estate for more than 30 years, retiring in 2005. She served on Woodstock Village Board of Trustees, Village Zoning Board and Woodstock Planning Commission. She was active in many local organizations. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Vicki Hamel, Diane Foley and Leslie Lewis; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three siblings, Gerald, Roger and Cheryl; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at Unitarian Universalist Chapel in Woodstock. A reception will follow at Thompson Senior Center in Woodstock. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kings Daughters, P.O.
