LEVY--Marilyn Wohl. Died peacefully on Monday at age 88 surrounded by her family. Married for more than 63 years and survived by Herbert Monte Levy, her partner in life and in love. A loved and loving mother of three children, Harlan (Kelly), Matthew, Alison (Ken Schlesinger). Proud and loving grandmother of Ely and Philip Levy, Ilyana and Sabrina Schlesinger, Gavin and Caitlin Levy. She attended Cornell University, where she was Phi Beta Kappa, and graduated from NYU Law School. After serving as the Assistant to the Dean of NYU Law School, she became an Editor for the Practising Law Institute, going on to become its Managing Editor and head of its book department. She managed a United States Department of Commerce study to promote inner city minority economic development and then was tapped to become a program officer at the Ford Foundation. She subsequently became a grant officer at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and Rockefeller Family Fund. She then concluded her legal career partnering in law with her husband, and acting in attorney disciplinary cases as Special Referee pursuant to appointments by both the First and Second Department Appellate Divisions. She served for many years on the Board of Directors of The Municipal Art Society, including a stint as its Acting President. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 20 at 11am at the Plaza Jewish Community Chapel (Amsterdam Avenue and 91st Street).
