Marilyn J. Hamelman Marilyn J. (Moore) Hamelman died at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Born on May 21, 1936 in Lafayette, IN, she was the daughter of the late Byrns E. and Louise (Halsema) Moore. She was married to Harry J. Hamelman for 18 years. She attended St. Lawrence grade school and St. Francis high school. She had a degree from Dietary Managers Association. She worked at St. Anthony Health Care, starting May 9, 1986, managing the dietary department and was responsible for the dietary clinical charting. She retired from there on December 31, 2007. Marilyn was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, West Lafayette, IN. She was an Extraordinary Minister for many years there and at the chapel of St. Elizabeth Hospital. She enjoyed bowling, making rosaries from rose petals, working jigsaw puzzles and caring for others. Surviving are her children, son Harry J. Hamelman Jr. (wife Camille) of Otterbein, IN and daughter Ronda K. Miller of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are 1 brother James A. Moore (wife Evangeline), of Lafayette, IN., 2 sisters Deloris Goris of Lafayette, IN., and Betty T. Johns (husband John) of Marshall, IN. Marilyn was blessed with seven grandchildren: Chasity Campbell (husband Gary), Jason Miller (wife Stephanie), Teresa Kozma (husband Brad), Josh Hamelman, Jamie Hamelman (wife Sara) Gabe Hamelman (wife Melissa), Chris Hamelman (wife Susan), 2 step grandchildren, Charles and Andy Alexander. She also had 23 great grandchildren, with another on the way,2 step great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter Linda L. Freeland (husband Dennis), 1 son Leroy, 2 brothers, Byrns E. Moore Jr. (wife Beverly) and Donald W. Moore (wife Marilyn), and 1 sister Margaret A. Fife (husband Bill). A memorial service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, West Lafayette, IN on January 14, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. EST.
