Marilyn R. (Malm) First, 87, a long-time Erie resident, passed away on April 12, 2017 at HarborChase of Palm Harbor, Fla. She was a beloved and devoted wife, a cherished mother, sister and grandmother, as well as a treasured friend to many. She will be remembered for her radiant smile and generous heart. She was born on April 29, 1929 in Jamestown, N.Y., daughter of the late John S. and Manghilda S. Malm. On July 10, 1954 she married Leroy (Roy) First at Simpson United Methodist Church. She was a 1947 graduate of Academy High School and then worked for the dental practice of Dr. Aubrey Barton. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading and travel. She served as a volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital for 28 years. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Leroy (Roy) First, and their children David (Karen) First of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Linda (Steve) Frisina of Encinitas, Calif., Jennifer (Paul) Wilkes of Frazeysburg, Ohio, and Colleen (Dan Fishlock) First of Basel, Switzerland. She is further survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one niece and three nephews. She is also survived by two brothers, Duane (Sally) Malm of Berwyn, Pa., and Donald Malm of Escondido, Calif.
