Durkota (Jordan), Marilyn L. Marilyn Louise Durkota (Jordan), age 80, entered into eternal rest after a courageous struggle with illness. She was the daughter of the late Irma (Blue) and Thomas Jordan. She was a descendant of Stephen Stetson, a Rhode Island infantry solider who fought in the American Revolution. By virtue of this, she was admitted to the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington D.C. She was a 12th generation bloodline descendant of William Brewster who was one of the 41 passengers on the Mayflower voyage which terminated at Plymouth, New England December 1620. She also was a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants in New York. Marilyn was the great granddaughter of Alonzo Blue, an infantry soldier who fought alongside his father Jacob Blue during the American Civil War. She was a former member of the Silliman DAR chapter and a former auxiliary member of the Raymond T. Goldbach Stratford VFW post 4960. She went with other auxiliary members many times to the Veterans Hospital in West Haven providing small handouts. She enjoyed her ocean cruises to many parts of the world, swimming in her Florida pool and ballroom dancing. Survivors include her beloved husband George, a daughter Diane Warhola and her husband Jack, grandson Kevin Warhola and his wife Andrea and granddaughter Kristine Warhola. Son Alan Durkota and son David Durkota. She also had eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. All services and burial will be privately held. Arrangements in care of Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home of Stratford. Private burial will be at Union Cemetery in Stratford.
