She attended millinery school after graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1940. Marie was an excellent seamstress, making her first dress at eight years of age and designed and made all of her clothes as a young woman. She believed in hard work and perseverance, especially when times were tough. She started working at age 14 to help her family during the Depression and had numerous occupations, always looking to improve herself. Marie was a kind, considerate and generous person, never failing to help someone in need. She loved her family and made many sacrifices to provide a warm and loving home. She was an excellent cook, making the most wonderful meals and exceptional spaghetti sauce. She enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, needlepoint and flower-arranging. She loved to read and had a thirst for knowledge, always encouraging us to learn new things. Marie also had a love for music and dancing. She especially enjoyed the accordion, and in her later years we spent happy times listening to her favorite songs. She loved taking care of people and was very fond of all of the wonderful dogs she had over the years. She is now reunited with them and all of her family in heaven. We are very grateful for the many years we were blessed, sharing our lives and love with her, for every life lesson she taught us, all the love we shared and for every precious memory we now share together forever.
