Marie C. Mazzella
Mystic - Marie C. (Gagnon) Mazzella, 82, of Mystic, wife of the late Silvio "Rick" Mazzella, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born in Unionville, the daughter of the late Francis and Clara (Carpentier) Gagnon and lived in Mystic since 1994. She was employed as a secretary with the U.S. government for many years up until her retirement. Marie was a lifetime member and held the position of conduct with the Ladies Auxillary Officers of the Hugo Simonelli VFW Post 3263, Mystic. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her five children, Linda Wells and her husband, James, of Mystic, Thomas Little and his wife, Helen, of New Britain, Dorothy Laufer and her husband, David, of Woodstock, Ga., Paul Little of Bristol and Juli Lowrey of Southington; a sister, Yvonne Neubert and her husband, John, of Roswell, Ga.; brother, Thomas Gagnon and his wife, Marion, of Scarborough, Maine; fifteen grandchildren, Amy, Rebecca, Emily, David, Kevin, David Marco, Isabelle, Christina, Shannon, Damian, Alicia, Destiny, Emily, Aliyah and Quashonta; and twelve great-grandchildren. A service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Burial will be private.
