Marie O. Geno
Geno, Marie O. Frankenmuth, Michigan, formerly of Freeland. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at St. Mary's of Michigan Medical Center. Age 91 years. The daughter of the late Felix and Olga (Janetzki) Gonder, Marie was born May 7, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Chester J. Geno on April 24, 1946 and would have celebrated 71 years of marriage. He survives her. Marie was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish and its Ladies Altar-Rosary Society and also served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister. Marie was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and crossword puzzles. Surviving besides her husband Chester are one daughter, one son and their spouses, Annmarie and James Kwaiser, Mercer, Pennsylvania; Mark J. and Karen Geno, Clarkston; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Livorse, Zelienople, Pennsylvania; Julieanne Kwaiser-(Kevin) Miller, Canfield, Ohio; Matthew M. (Christine) Geno, Tracy, California; Kristina Geno, Lakewood, Colorado; a sister, Frances and Harold Pawlik, Wyoming, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. John Paul II Parish-St. Josaphat Site, 469 Shattuck Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. James Bessert will officiate. A private burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and a Vigil Service will take place 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw City Rescue Mission or Disabled American Veterans.
