Marian Cotton Schlessman July 12, 1920 - October 6, 2016 Diamondhead, MS Marian Elizabeth Cotton was born July 12, 1920, in Casper, Wyoming. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. She worked at the Casper Air Base for the Office of Strategic Services, where she met Lt. Walter Schlessman, whom she married and with whom she had two children, Libby Bentson (Michael) and Alan Schlessman (Terri Gallmeier). In 1980 she and Walt moved to Diamondhead, MS. Along the way she taught bridge, sang and acted in various choirs and plays, traveled the world extensively, and enjoyed cooking, gardening and golf. She spent the last few years since Walt's death at Parc Provence in Slidell, LA. She left us quietly on October 6, on to a new adventure at LSU School of Medicine. Besides her son and daughter, she is survived by her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her daughter Libby has written a memoir on Marian and Walter's lives, titled "The End: A Love Story".
