Caswell, Marian Elizabeth 6/4/1926 - 4/11/2017 Passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at age 90, at her home in Ann Arbor, MI from a heart attack. Marian was very involved in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was always available to offer her help in any way they asked. The members of the church knew that she was a very giving lady and never hesitated to ask for help. She was extremely involved in the Washtenaw Red Cross for many years and received accolades, dinner, and awards for all the hard work she willing did to help them. She made donations to over ten organizations that needed help. She felt that whatever she could do for them, she would. Most of all, her time was spent helping her family. She was always there for our phone calls, need of advice, and to listen. Phone calls were always made to her several times a day, as she was not only a mother, but a friend. Marian was married to Harrison Henry Caswell, Jr. of Ann Arbor for over 40 years, and he was not only her husband, but her friend and partner. She was the mother of two children, Mark A. (Patricia) Caswell and Martha A. (John) Cole. Both Martha and John have passed away. She had three grandchildren, Jason H. Caswell, MD of Cheyenne, WY; Joshua A. (Ashley) Caswell, a teacher of children with autism of Freeland, MI, and Katie Cole of Ann Arbor, MI. She had one great-granddaughter, Stossi, of Freeland, MI. She had a nephew, Roger Caswell from Florida; and one niece, Lynn (Steve) Nordt from South Carolina. Marian was born in Oneonta, NY to Marshall and Elizabeth Shultis. She had one brother, John. After high school graduation, she attended Crouse Nursing School and earned an LPN degree which she kept up-to-date, until her death. She worked at University of Michigan in the Immunization Department until her retirement. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM with the Memorial Service at 11 AM and a luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family and contributions will be sent to the organizations she was involved with, and your name will be included.
