Maria T. "Mary" Cimini
Maria 'Mary' T. Cimini of Leominster, Pittsfield, MA native; 100 LEOMINSTER -- Maria "Mary" T. Cimini, 100, of Benchmark Crossing, Leominster, MA and a native of Pittsfield, MA, passed away October 13, 2016 - the day of her 100th Birthday. Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 13, 1916, the daughter of Vito and Maria (Zurzulo) Sinopoli. After Mary graduated from Pittsfield High School she was employed as a secretary at General Electric Company where she retired after 42 years of service (1976). Formerly a communicant of Mount Carmel Church where she was very active in the Ladies Guild especially in the lawn parties, annual bazaar and Bingo. She enjoyed knitting, baking, arts and crafts, reading and especially playing any kind of card games (affectionately recognized as Mary the Card Shark). She took up golf at the age of 70 and was still swinging the club at 93. Mary was loved and admired by all who came in contact with her. Her husband, John B. Cimini, passed away in 2005 after 64 years of a loving relationship. She is survived by, son, Albert J. Cimini of Pittsfield and wife, Donna; daughter, Christine M. Hoeske of Bolton, MA and husband, Richard, brother, Nicholas Sinopoli of Lee, MA, and sister-in-law, Rose Cimini of Lee, MA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and their spouses, David and Dina Hoeske of Roswell, GA, Alison DiGeronimo of Bolton, MA, Matthew and Liz Hoeske of Fitchburg, MA, Craig and Kayleen Cimini of Avon, CT, Mark Cimini and his wife, Emily Taylor of Pittsfield, MA, and Laura Cimini Flynn and her husband, Brian of Seattle, WA. Also 7 great-grandchildren, Jack, Joshua, Marney, Abbey, Kiley, Mia, and Grace. Mary was predeceased by 6 sisters and 3 brothers, Katherine Cavallo Fresia, Carmella Hinckley Bernadini, Mariann Gigliotti, Elizabeth Penna, Rose Penna, Theresa Wooden, Vito (Jack) Sinopoli Jr., Bruno Sinopoli and Joseph Sinopoli. The family wishes to thank Leominster Crossings for their wonderful care of Mary. To the Hospice Kindred team especially Lori and the French Connection team, we want to acknowledge their outstanding help and support. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19th at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster, MA. On Friday, October 21 there will be calling hours 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield. On Saturday, October 22 there will be a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 414 North St., Pittsfield.
