Marguerite Helen (Conway) Mathis, age 91, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017, in Pasadena, Texas. She was born June 7, 1925 in Houston, Texas to Judson Truett and Lillian Helen Conway. Marguerite was saved at a young age at Lawndale Baptist Church. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until she met and married Norman R. Mathis. On November 26, 1947 she married the love of her life, Norman. Marguerite was a housewife and mother. She and Norman had three children, Norman Jr., Kay and Glenn. She kept her grandchildren and school teachers children in her home for 10 plus years. Through the years she loved to collect antique glass, taking care of her grandchildren and taking trips to Las Vegas with Norman and his two aunts. Marguerite is preceded in death by her parents Judson Truett and Lillian Helen Conway; son, Norman Ray Mathis, Jr.; brothers George Harlan Conway, Judson Truett Conway, Jr.; sisters Jean Ford and Bernice Bingermer. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Johnny Musgrove of Deer Park, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Lysa Mathis of Hankamer, Texas; grandchildren Tammie Mathis of Daingerfield, Texas; Phillip Mathis and wife Kara of Telephone, Texas; Julie Powell and husband Eddy of Deer Park; Michael Musgrove and wife Meagan of Deer Park; Jennifer Mathis of Winnie, Texas; Candice Mathis of Baytown, Texas; Meghann Saylor and husband Chris of Mount Belview, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held January 14, 2017. Burial followed at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
