Marguerite M. (Nietfeld) Bennett GENOA: Marguerite M. Bennett, 97, affectionately called "Marnie" passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 at the Genoa Care Center. Marguerite was born in Carroll Township, Ohio on April 30, 1919 to William F. and Addie M. (Palmer) Nietfeld. She was a 1937 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and a 1938 graduate of Davis Business College. She then went on to work at the Lion Store. On August 31, 1940 she married Russell N. Bennett, the love of her life. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1999 after 59 wonderful years of marriage. Marguerite was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Toledo and the Altar Rosary Society. Lifetime memberships include, Christ Dunberger American Legion Auxiliary Post 537; the Ladies Auxiliary to the V.F.W. and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was a caring and compassionate person always placing her faith and family first. She prided herself in being a meticulous housekeeper. Her biggest enjoyment was playing cards with family and friends. Marguerite is survived by her children, Robert (Judy) Bennett of Toledo, Ruth Ann (James) Glaser of Oak Harbor, and Carol Sue Miller of Curtice. 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; brother, Fr. Fred Nietfeld of Plantation, Florida. In addition to her husband, Russell, she was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Patrick Sheehan, Jim "Pa" Miller; sisters, Kathryn Baumgartner, Addalain Miller; brother James Nietfeld. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and where the Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 19 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 215 Church St., Oak Harbor, Ohio at 11:00 am, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Oak Harbor Cemetery. A bereavement luncheon will be served at St. Boniface following the cemetery committal. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Marguerite's memory are asked to consider St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Toledo; St. Boniface Catholic Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
