Margaret M. Yells
SENECA FALLS - Margaret M. Yells, 99, of Sunrise Cove, Seneca Falls, passed away Monday (October 17, 2016) at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. TODAY, Wednesday (Oct 19) at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc., 32 State St., Seneca Falls. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with The Rev. Leah Ntuala of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls officiating. Interment will follow in Canoga Cemetery. Born in Clyde Bank, Scotland, the daughter of John and Margaret McKnee Little on March 3, 1917, she came to Seneca Falls in 1921. A 1935 graduate of Mynderse Academy, she graduated from CCBI Business School in Syracuse. She married John Yells Sr. on Nov. 18, 1939. Mrs. Yells was an Administrative Assistant for the Cornell Extension Service in Waterloo for many years. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls. She was past President of the Seneca County Women's Democratic Organization. A charter member and Secretary of the Red Jacket Yacht Club and a member of the Thomas County Georgia Historical Society. A member of the garden club in Thomasville and also a member of the Friends of the Library in Thomasville. She and her husband, who passed away in 1999, loved to winter in the state of Georgia and did extensive traveling together. She is survived by a son, John H. Yells, Jr. of Seneca Falls; two grandchildren, Micheil (Darla) Yells of LeRoy, N.Y., and Kelley Bannerman of The Villages, Fla.; sister-in-law, Olga Little, Clifton Springs and several nieces and nephews.
