In memory of
Margaret E. "Peg" Gosnay
1931-2017 Margaret E. Gosnay of Clifton Heights, age 85, passed away February 10, 2017, at Broomall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after two and a half year convalescence. Margaret was preceded in death by parents Sylvester E. Gosnay and Marian B. Gosnay. Her siblings, Marian, Jane, Tyler, Kelly and William Robert Gosnay also preceded her in death. She is survived by siblings Donald Gosnay, Richard Gosnay, Mary Gosnay Dalton and John Gosnay. Aunt Margaret was a favorite of 19 nieces and nephews. She was as popular with them as they were with her. Neighborhood youngsters knew Miss Margaret as the “candy lady”; she always had a treat for them. Especially near and dear to her were her cats. Ironically, her longtime feline friend Pepper, passed away shortly after Margaret was hospitalized. Church members from Clifton Heights United Methodist Church and her friends and neighbors in Clifton Heights were all an important part of Margaret’s precious life. Peg was a longtime resident of Clifton Heights; however, her early years and schooling occurred in East Lansdowne. Margaret graduated from Clifton Heights High School and soon went to nursing school at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia. A few years after her employment at Methodist, she began her 40 year nursing career at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Peg relished her work at CHOP and became a proud retiree in 1995. In her working years, Peg did lots of traveling with her nursing friends. She had lots of pictures and stories. Later in life, she spent time visiting and traveling with family.
