Margaret M. 'Peggy' Boos Longtime staffer for county treasurer; active in church Margaret M. "Peggy" Boos, 86, passed away April 7, 2017. Friends and relatives are invited to gather for a burial of ashes on May 3 at 10 a.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, N.J., followed by a memorial at the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, N.J., at 11:30 a.m. All flowers can be sent to the church. Peggy was born and raised in Garwood, N.J., and lived there her entire life. She graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High school in 1948, where she played hockey, softball, and lettered in basketball. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was very active with her church, St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Garwood, where she was a parishioner for over 60 years. She sang in the church choir and volunteered to be the church treasurer. Her tremendous efforts helped save the church, and she received many awards for her hard work. Peggy first worked as a clerk in Tepper's Department Store in Plainfield, N.J., during the 1950s. She then worked in Union County's treasurer's office for 33 years. She loved to bowl and listen to country music. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and Australia. Peggy was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Donald Boos Sr. She is survived by her three loving sons, Donald Jr., Kenneth George, and Gary; three grandsons, Michael Allen, Steven Weston, and William John; and her two great- grandchildren, Iris and Elis. Peggy was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
