In memory of
Mr. Manley Dillard Taylor Sr.
Manley Dillard Taylor, Sr., of Milford passed away on Oct. 4, 2016. He was 90 years old. Manley was a family man. His family was his first priority, especially his wife, Lois, who preceded him in death in 2009. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and working in the yard until Lois called him in for supper. Manley served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought on the front lines of Nazi Germany and was a guard at the Palace of Justice. Because of his service, he was a bronze star recipient. Manley later retired as a civilian government employee at Fort A.P. Hill as a warehouse supervisor. Manley was a member of American Legion Post #89 and VFW #10295. He was also a member of Milford Presbyterian, where he served as past deacon and Sunday school superintendent. In addition to his wife, Manley is preceded in death by a son, Manley Taylor, Jr., and four sisters. Manley is survived by a son, Dennis G. Taylor, Sr. (wife, Robin), who was his diligent caregiver; grandchildren, Leah Acors (husband, Brian), Kristen Kraynak (husband, Ian), and Dennis "Bo" Taylor, Jr., all of whom he cherished and who in turn adored their Papa; great-grandson, Jordan Acors; sister, Julia Lumpkin; daughter-in-law, Jenny Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Thank you to his caregivers, Nancy Etzcorn and Jenny Taylor. A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at Milford Presbyterian Church.
