Ms. Mae Frances Lundy
A homegoing celebration for Ms. Mae Frances Lundy, who passed peacefully to eternal rest on Sunday, February 18, 2018, will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Boulevard, Tampa, Florida, with Dr. Sam Maxwell, senior teaching pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elizabeth and Jerry; aunts, Annie Smith, Loucille Lundy, Zedna Jackson, Addie Hill, Edith Moffett, Hattie Bell Lundy, Clara Graham Rich, Christine Davis; uncles, Lonnie Graham, Sonny Man, Jacob Graham; brothers, Nick Lundy, Jessie J. Lundy, William Lundy; and grandson, Carlos Antonio Esquire Lundy. Memories of Mae will forever be cherished by her children, Wanda Denise Lundy of Statesboro, Ga.; Roosevelt Philyor Jr. (Wanda Campbell Philyor), Carlton Philyor (Robin Bryant Philyor) and Eric Philyor (Dalys Gilling), all of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Kelphie Kinte Lundy (Shammonica Lundy), Elizabeth Kelonda Ogelsby, Kenny James Oglesby, all of Statesboro, Ga.; Kimberly Denise Lundy of Savannah, Ga.; Daniel Elijah Philyor, Trenicka Philyor Thornton (Nick Thornton), Alakeisha Philyor, Rasheed Philyor, Jordan Alexis Philyor, Maegan Alyssa Philyor, all of Tampa, Fla.; and a multitude of great-grandchildren, brother, James Willie Lundy (Beatrice) of Lake Wales, Fla.; aunts, Anna Lou Eason, Lillie Bell Lundy, both of Statesboro, Ga.; a multitude of cousins and close friends. Ms. Mae Frances Lundy was born on June 19, 1938, to Mrs. Elizabeth Graham Lundy and Mr. Jerry Lundy in Statesboro, Ga. Mae relocated to Tampa, Florida, in 1954, where she was professionally employed as an administrative assistant prior to retiring from The Children's Home at Lake Magdalene. She enjoyed serving for many years on the Usher Board at First Baptist of Progress Village, participating as a member of the Red Hat Society and spending time with family and friends. There will be a viewing on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 North 29th Street, Tampa, Fla., from 5 until 8 p.m. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approximately 1:45 p.m. for the service.
