Dr. Madison Rankin Price
GLEN ALLEN - Dr. Madison Rankin Price, 82, of Glen Allen, VA, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2016. He was born on December 29, 1933, in Aiken, SC, son of the late Dr. Bruce H. Price and Eva Rankin Price. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Adrienne Price Cox. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stiff Price (Dottie) of 60 years, three children: Robert Bruce Price, Thomas Madison Price and wife, Elaine, and Leslie Price Taylor and husband, Tommy. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Laurel and Meredith Price, and Dylan and Jordan Taylor, and leaves eight nephews and two nieces. Dr. Price graduated from the University of Richmond in 1955 and MCV Dental School in 1959. He served as a dental officer in the USAF at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FL, for two years active duty and six years in the reserves. He practiced dentistry in Newport News, VA, for 49 years. He loved the practice of dentistry and was involved in the following organizations: American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the Peninsula Dental Society, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, Virginia Academy of General Dentistry and American Academy of Forensic Odontology. He went on dental mission trips to Haiti and Guyana, and multiple trips to the Dental Clinic in Bland, VA. He always joined a Baptist Church in the community in which he lived. For the past eight years, he has been a member of Second Baptist Church in Richmond, where he moved for retirement. He has served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and choir member. His hobbies include history, reading, travel, and cars. He loved antique cars, car shows and parades. He especially loved his 1967 Plymouth Barracuda convertible, still a good car. He dearly loved his family, children and grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 15, at Second Baptist Church. A reception/visitation will follow the service. Interment at the Columbarium at the University of Richmond will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, 9617 River Road, Richmond, VA 23229.
