Lyle E. Campbell
Lyle E. Campbell, 94, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 15, 2017, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Harveyville, he was the son of the late Doyle and Lucrecia Sickler Campbell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. For many years he was employed by Wagner Construction and, prior to his retirement, he was employed by American Asphalt. Lyle received his pilot's license and was a plane mechanic at the Forty Fort Airport. Lyle was an avid hunter and fisherman. Preceding him in death were his wife, the former Marcella Gavek, and numerous siblings. Surviving are his children, Edward and his fiancée, Helen Frederick, Idetown; Donna Watkins and her husband, Glenn, Lehman; Lawrence Campbell and his wife, Gloria, Beaumont; and Bradley Campbell and his wife, Irene, Olyphant; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Nulton-Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 state Route 309 (Beaumont), Monroe Township, with the Rev. James Howell of Northmoreland Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northmoreland Baptist Church, 21 Ripple Brook Road, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
