Lydia M. Spooner 1921 - 2016 Lydia Mae (Falcon) Spooner, 95, of North Adams died on October 13, 2016 at North Adams Commons. She was born in Victoria, Texas on August 9, 1921 a daughter of Rafael and Celia (Rivera) Falcon. She attended school in Victoria, Texas, and was a decorated veteran of the US Army, Women's Army Corp. She served during World War II as a Corporal, was in the first graduating Women's Army Corp class of 1943, and marched in the funeral procession for President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in April 1945. She was last employed at Sprague Electric Co., where she worked for 35 years, until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, and was a devoted homemaker to her family. She was the widow of Arthur G. Spooner, who she married on January 18, 1946. Mr. Spooner died on February 23, 1990. Survivors include her daughter Debra Ciampa and her husband Richard of North Adams, two sons David A. Spooner, and his wife Luanne of Thompson, CT, and Frederick W. Spooner, and his wife Judy of North Adams, seven grandchildren Rebecca Cellana, Stephen Spooner, Kristen Ciampa, Stephanie Spooner, Stacy Abuisi, Sarah Spooner, and Mitchell Spooner, nine great-grandchildren Alison Cellana, Julia Cellana, Caroline Cellana, Caitlyn Spooner, Nicholas Abuisi, Nolan Abuisi, Isabella Spooner, Eli Gagne, and Kamryn Spooner, two sisters Annie Buhidar and Patti Ballard both of Corpus Christi, TX, one brother Ralph Falcon of San Antonio, TX, as well as nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by one brother, and three sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service for Lydia Mae (Falcon) Spooner will be held on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 10:00am at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St, North Adams, MA. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in the Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00am until the time of the funeral.
