Lucille Isabelle Schieding
Lucille Isabelle (Lyles) Schieding, 95, formerly of Jewell Lane, Wilbraham passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Lucille, daughter of the late Robert and Ida (Brinson) Lyles, was born in Sylvester, Georgia on August 18, 1921. She lived in East Longmeadow for most of her earlier years until her marriage and then moved to Wilbraham. She attended Tech High School in Springfield and also worked for the Monarch Insurance Company for eight years. Lucille also worked for the food service program at Minnechaug Regional High School where she retired after 30 years of service. She loved cooking and dancing at the Arthur Murray School of Dance. Lucille was known as the pie lady on her street for sharing her love of cooking and always making her neighbors pies. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star in East Longmeadow. Lucille was a longtime member of the East Longmeadow United Methodist Church. She was very active and worked on the church newsletter and aiding the homeless. Lucille always gave to the less fortunate. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Robert “Bob” Schieding; her son, Donald W. Schieding; and her sister Eugenia “Gene” Webb. She will be missed by all who knew her, including her son, Richard A. Schieding of Springfield; her grandchildren, Samantha Fahey, Kendall Schieding, Toska Schieding, and Ryan Schieding; her great grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob, Heaven, and Kinley; her sister and best friend, Marjorie Campurciani of West Springfield; her niece, Gloria Nataloni of Wilbraham; her nephews, Robert and Ronald Campurciani of West Springfield; and her extended family members and friends. Visiting Hours for Lucille will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 4PM to 7PM at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Family and Friends are asked to meet on Thursday,February 16, 2017 at East Longmeadow United Methodist Church, 215 Somers Road, East Longmeadow for funeral services for Lucille at 11AM. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lucille’s memory may be made to East Longmeadow United Methodist Church, 215 Somers Road, East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
