In memory of
SANTORO Louis F., age 92, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Louis was born in Paterson, and later moved to Hawthorne, where he was a resident for over 50 years. He worked for over 40 years in the retail industry at Jacobs in Paterson, where he was a merchandise displayer/window trimmer. A man of many talents, he was able to do almost anything with a hammer, wrench, and screwdriver. He loved working in the yard and traveling internationally, especially to Italy. He was particularly fond of music and loved to sing "You Are My Sunshine" to his beloved wife of 50 years, Francesca (nee Messina) Santoro. Louis was predeceased by his parents, Gaetano and Carolina Santoro. Along with his wife, he leaves his daughter Simona (nee Santoro) and son-in-law Christian Tomsich of Hoboken, NJ; his sister, Tina Spagnuolo of Florida; his nephew Albert and wife Sammy Spagnuolo of Wyckoff, NJ; and his niece Linda and husband Tom Pampinella of Colorado. His family would like to thank the caregivers from both the Reflections Alzheimer's team at Van Dyk Park Place and Villa Marie Claire Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion he received up to and including his final days. On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 PM at Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ. Funeral will depart from the funeral home at 10 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2017 for a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Anthony R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum, Totowa.
