In memory of
Lorraine Elizabeth Powers (Chic) left us on February 10th, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 15th 1929, lived most of her life in Ellensburg and with Stan, her husband, raised their 6 children in their home on Dolarway RD. She worked at Ellensburg General as a nurse assistant advancing to business manager at KVCH until she retired in 1988. She enjoyed singing, playing cards, crafts and telling stories whether true or not. Chic had a contagious smile and laughter that will be truly missed by all including her many friends who reside at Hearthstone. Chic is survived by her sister, JoAnn Platt, sons-Glen Powers (Beverly) and Terry Powers (Lynda) and daughter, Mary Casey (Brad). Grandma 'Chic-ie' had 15 grand, 31 great, and 2 great-great grandchildren that she was very proud of. Preceded in death is husband, Stanley Powers along with sons Mike and Lucky, daughter Pat Marx and 3 brothers. Many thanks to Dr. Birger, Jean Yoder, and Hospice. Our greatest appreciation goes to all of the staff/caregivers at Hearthstone, special thank you to Tomoko, Mike, Jen (Adminstrator) and Bonnie. Her funeral will be at Stewart Williams Tribute Center on Saturday, February 18th at 10am with her burial at High Valley Cemetery followed with a celebration of life at Hearthstone Cottage at 2pm. In leau of flowers, donate to Hospice or the Ellensburg Library.
