No more pain no more suffering, just close your eyes and rest for I only take my angels at their very best." Mrs. Lorraine Lillian Jones, 88, of 5200 Heritage Road, Hopewell Va., departed this life on October 11, 2016, at her resident. She was born June 25, 1928, to the late Pleasent and Carrie Epps and was a long-term resident of Prince George County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Andrew Jones; her eldest daughter, Mrs. Lillian E. Graves; her sister, Gracie Brown; and brother, Otis Epps. Mrs. Lorraine Jones has been a dedicated member for more than 60 years and mother of Lebanon Baptist Church in Disputanta Va. She was also the former First Lady of First Baptist Claremont and Harrison Grove of Surry. Her passions included preparing meals for her family for holidays, and making sure she was a present member at Lebanon on Sunday mornings until her health declined. Mrs. Jones was an active member of the Eastern Star, SCLC and NAACP until her health declined. Left to cherish in her memory four daughters, Susan Newby (Wesley) of Waverly Va., Shirley Allen (John), Mary Jones and Faye Moore, all of Hopewell; two sons, Andrew Jones (Diane), and Eugene Jones, both of Hopewell; one son-in-law, Robert Graves of Petersburg; one devoted sister, Shirley Whiting of Disputanta; two devoted brothers, Pleasant Epps (Catherine) of Petersburg and Garland Epps (Josephine) of Prince George; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; two goddaughters, Josephine White (John) of Prince George and Elizabeth Rain of Hopewell; one godson, the Rev. Albert Toney (Barbara) of Ettrick; devoted cousin, Cora Blanding of Prince George; very devoted friend, Denise Price of Hopewell and Clarence Peterson of Prince George. Thanks to TLC homecare Keasa Jones and Laquata Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to name. Homegoing service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Lebanon Baptist Church, Disputanta, Va., Rev. Dr. James L. Barnes, pastor, will officiate.
