HACKETTSTOWN - Lori Bodner age 60, of Hackettstown, passed away suddenly following a brief illness Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at the Morristown Medical Center. Born and raised in Newton, she has lived in Hackettstown for many years. A graduate of the Newton High School class of 1974, Lori earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami, Florida. She began her career working as a summer school and substitute teacher followed by working for the New Jersey Herald as a reporter. For the past 30 years, Lori has enjoyed her work as a computer programmer with Selective Insurance of Branchville. With an ear for all kinds of music, she enjoyed playing the piano. She enjoyed learning, traveling and anything related to history. Lori will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Ms. Bodner was predeceased by her father, Edward P., in 2012. Survivors include her loving mother, Jean M. (Shafer), of Newton; her brother, Gary, of Andover; her beloved friend of many years, Martin Winkler, of Chester; as well as her cherished pet cat, "Louis" ie Armstrong. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 17, from 7-9 p.m., in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. Newton.
