Loreta Wilson Rewis - SAVANNAH - Loreta Wilson Rewis passed peacefully from this life to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She was 91 years old. She was received into heaven by her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she faithfully followed and served. A celebration of life for Mrs. Rewis will be held at 3:00, Sunday, October 16, 2016 in the Sanctuary of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Garden City with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Mrs. Rewis will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 16, from 2:00 until the hour of the service in the Sanctuary of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mrs. Rewis was born in Bullock County, Ga , the daughter of Morgan Arthur Wilson and Josephine Waters Wilson. She is survived by her loving and supportive husband, Felton Rewis of 68 years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Darnell Rewis, of Garden City, Ga. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. Her life focused around her loving family. From her children to her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews, she cared about each and every one of them. Their love for her filled her heart with joy and made her feel special. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for 48 years. She served on several church committees and was a faithful member of the Senior Adult Sunday School class. She will be missed by her children, Calvin and Carol Rewis; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brent and Angela Rewis, Greysen and Haley: Barry and Anne Rewis, Tanner and Tate. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support shown in many heartfelt forms from family, friends, neighbors, caregivers and Hospice of Savannah. Memorial gifts honoring Mrs. Rewis' life may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 407 Talmadge Avenue, Garden City, Ga. 31408.
