Loren (Babe) Iversen 02/04/1925-04/07/2017 Loren (Babe) Iversen, age 92, passed away April 7, 2017 after many years of battling cancer. Born in Bellingham to John and Angeline Iversen. He was a lifetime resident of Bellingham. Survived by wife of 69 years Kathlee Iversen; daughters Nancy Kay Iversen, Lorrie Ann Iversen; 5 grandchildren Brian and Brad McAllister, Jason and Jeremy Quiding, and Angela Andreason, plus 13 great grandchildren. He was a veteran of WWI. Served in the Navy on a subchaser. After the war, worked in a clothing store, spent several years as manager and buyer for a shoe dept. Drove oil truck for a number of years, spent short time as bookkeeper for oil co. then went to work for the City of Bellingham Park Dept. Lived for 15 years in house in Southside Rose Garden. Also took care of Fairhaven, Corn- wall and Boulevard Parks, plus Chuckanut Bay, Arroyo Parks, plus some trails. Really en- joyed taking care of Rose Garden (100 bushes). He enjoyed hiking in the mountains, golf, swimm- ing, camping and other outdoor activities. Traveled extensively throughout the states, visiting national, federal and state parks and all points of interest. He will be missed for his smile, comic remarks, quick wit, sense of humor and great love of family. He enjoyed, twice yearly, trips to Vegas, Reno, Laughlin, Jackpot and other stops in Nevada to supplement his income for next vacation. Preceded in death by parents John and Angeline Iversen; brother John Iversen; daughter Karen K. Iversen; and son Greg L. Iversen. At his request there will be no services.
