Lonnie Lee Jim, 41, of Shiprock, passed from this life Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, in Shiprock. He was born Oct. 22, 1974 in Shiprock to Calvin Jim and Sarah Thompson. He was born to Naakai dine e (the Mexican clan) born for Ashihnii (Salt People clan). Lonnie grew up in Shiprock. He had two brothers, Lynel Jim and Jamison Thompson both from Shiprock. He had one sister, Sheila Thompson from Cortez, Colo. He had a step-father James Thompson Sr. from Shiprock. Lonnie had two sons; Warren Calvin Lee Jim and Wyatt Dylan Lee Jim both from Albuquerque. He had five nieces; Alycia Jim, Krista Jim, Samara Reuben, Lana Tom and Lynelle Thompson. Lonnie had numerous aunties, uncles and cousins. Lonnie was employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Roads Department as a survey technician in Farmington. In 2002, he moved to Albuquerque and worked for Materion a precious metal company. He was a loyal, and dedicated hard worker. Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Jim; his grandparents, Grey Jim, Lena Jim and Tom Lee; and his uncle Robert Adams all from Shiprock. Lonnie's celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Bethel Christian Reform Church, in Shiprock. Burial will follow at a family cemetery in Red Valley, Ariz. A reception will follow at the Bethel Christian Reform Church. Pallbearers are Michael Jim, Myron Jim, Fernando Bitah, Dennison Lee, Manny Benally, Chris Aspaas and Stan Hardy. Honorary pallbearers are Warren Calvin Lee Jim, Wyatt Dylan Lee Jim, Lynel Jim, Jamison Thompson, McDavis Otero, Michael Otero, Aaron Adams, Larry G. Jim Jr. and Marcino Jim. Lonnie is in the care of Desert View Funeral Home, North U.S. Highway 491, in Shiprock, 505-368-4607.
