Richmond, Lois Ellen Age 88, went to be with her Lord unexpectedly and peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 12, 2017. She was born on January 26, 1928 to the late Auburn and Lulah Van Syoc in Lansing, Michigan. Along with her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her brother Jerry and her son Devin. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Bob, her daughter Lori Troop, granddaughters Anna and Kyra, sister Ardis (Ron) Phillips as well as several nieces , nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Lois graduated from Belding High School in 1946 and went on to live in Rockford and Grand Rapids while wintering in Arizona. She was very active in her community as a member of the Northview Education Foundation Board, the Eastern Stars, and long-time member of Belding Congregational Church. Lois was also the first female president of the West Michigan Chapter of SPE. She was a dedicated owner/CEO of her family business LuVan Inc. in Belding, MI and later went on to own a plastic injection company with Bob. When Lois wasn't working she loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed family game night with everything from board games to cards, as long as she was with her family. She had a passion for knitting and would relax by reading. Over their years together, Bob and Lois enjoyed sight-seeing and traveling. Lois will be deeply missed. The funeral service will take place at 1pm on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Reyers North Valley Chapel; with an hour of visitation to be held at the funeral home beginning at 12pm. Lois will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Memory Garden in Belding, MI.
