Lloyd Marvin Prothro Sept. 2, 1931 - Feb. 5, 2017 Heaven has gained a Loving Husband and Father. Hardworking, Talented, and Faithful Man. Lloyd was born in Oxford, Kansas, Sept. 2, 1931 and passed away Feb. 5, 2017. He was very proud of his service with the Marine Corps during the Korean War. While living most of his life in Merced he worked as a mechanic for Boeing as well as owning his own Service Station for awhile. Camping, Fishing, Gardening, Cooking and most of all Music were his passions. Many enjoyed his many musical talents through the years. Whether at family Hootenannys, as song leader for the Trinity So. Baptist Church or making many friends while traveling and playing in fiddle competitions, he loved it all. He was handy at everything. He built their home of 40 years and enjoyed building and repairing fiddles. Family meant everything to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and one son-in-law. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice Jean Prothro, his children Pamela Little (Alan), Janet Veregge (Fred), and Timothy Prothro (Vicki), along with 8 grandchildren and 13 great grand children. Also one brother and two sisters. A private viewing and burial for the family was held. Lloyd will be missed by many! UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!
