Lita Kostrzak June 7, 1919 Aug 24, 2016 Lita, Born in Iloilo, Panay, Philippines June 7, 1919 to Flaviana Mestre and Ulrich Foerster, a resident of Reno since 1954, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2016. Lita married Paul Kostrzak a US naval reservist in 1941. During the Japanese occupation, Paul was held captive for 3 years as a civilian prisoner of war at the Santo Tomas University in Manila. After liberation, Paul was returned to his home in Oshkosh, WI. Within months Lita and daughter Arlene arrived in WI, too. The family, now with 2 more daughters, moved to Reno, NV in 1954. Lita became a proud American citizen in 1958 and went to work Harold's Club for over 30 years. Predeceased by parents, half-sister Carolina Buenaflor, husband Paul, and grandson Ronald Peck. Survived by daughters Arlene Gerhard (Milo) and Janice Peck of Sparks, and Kathryn Berez (Peter) of Elk Grove, CA; grandchildren Angela, Janis, and David; great grandchildren Austin, Madisen, Taylor and Sierra; cousin Balbanita Santiago of Sacramento, CA. Graveside services were private.
