Lindsay Suchowieski-Coats passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a long illness. Lindsay was the daughter of the late Jonathan and Shirley Wills Evans. She was a 1966 graduate of Ashley Sugar Notch High School. In her lifetime, Lindsay was a CNA, a former captain of the Ashley Ambulance, a member of the Ashley Auxiliary, Laurel Run Fire Department and the Gold Wing Road Riders. She was a current member of the United Eastern Lenape Nation in Ohio, where she was honored with the name "Moon Owl." Preceding her in death was a daughter, Dana Lee Suchowieski. She is survived by her husband, Jack Coats; former husband, David Suchowieski; daughters, Daelynn Farrell and her husband, John, Jamie McDermott and her husband, James, and Amanda McCue; son, Jack Coats Jr. and his wife, Melissa; 15 grandchildren, Jaeson, Zachary, Shania, James Jr., Brett, Brookelyn, Samantha, Katelyn, Mikey, Cody, Reese, Kayla, Jax, Oden and Rebel; sister, Leslie Halchak; and brother, Duane Evans Sr. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Ashley Centenary United Methodist Church, 26 N. Main St., Ashley. Arrangements are by George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N.
