Linda J. (Lanzendorf) Stock
Linda J (Lanzendorf) Stock passed away the morning of March 8th, at home in Houston, TX, with family at her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on May 2, 1952 in Syracuse, NY, to the (late) Oren and Jane Lanzendorf, attending Central Technical High School where she studied fashion design. She went on to Onondaga Community College and received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Syracuse University College of Law. She resided in Camillus, NY with family for many years.
During that time, Linda was admitted to the bar in NY and practiced in Syracuse before heading to Massachusetts where she consulted in law for the real estate industry. In 2010, she moved to Houston, TX, to be closer to her son, Alexander Stock.
In her younger years, her family spent many enjoyable summers at their cottage on Crosby Lake in Ontario, Canada. She was fortunate to travel with her son and family to such destinations as Australia and Alaska throughout her life. Linda was extremely talented working with her hands as a seamstress, and excelled at embroidery and jewelry making. She loved art, history, being near the ocean and spending time with family and her dog. Her dry humor and cheeky cynicism will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her loving son, Alex, of Houston, TX and partner, Kirsty Roberts of Adelaide, Australia; loyal pet dog, Penelope; sister, Cynthia Carney and husband, John, and niece and nephew, Lara and Liam Carney, all of Gloucester, MA; Aunts Mary Alice Michelac, of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Pat Moore, of St. Louis, MO; sister, Margaret Kramer, of Syracuse, NY; nephew, David Kramer and wife Sue, of Virginia; niece, Wendy Kramer, of Oswego, NY; many other nieces and nephews, grand nephews and distant cousins. She was pre-deceased by her parents and three brothers, Alan, David and Neil Lanzendorf.
Donations can be made in Linda's name to ACLU, Scout's Honor of Houston, TX, or Cape Anne Animal Aid of Gloucester, MA.
