In memory of
Linda Montgomery
Linda Sue (McFerrin) Montgomery CHILLICOTHE: Linda Sue (McFerrin) Montgomery was called to the Lord at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born September 9, 1941, to the late Paul and Dolores McFerrin. Linda was a beautiful soul who treated every person with kindness, love and possessed an endearing sassiness. She married Robert Montgomery on September 20, 1959. Foregoing an FBI career, she worked at Mead Paper until she decided to stay at home raising 3 'perfect' children. Within the neighborhood, she became a second Mom to many and the coolest Mom to all. Leading by example, Linda taught others to respect everyone no matter race, religion, color, hair length, body piercings or personal style choices. She embraced differences in people, never met a stranger, and always put others needs before her own. In the age of technology, she stayed true to her roots and made sure her grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed the outdoors, taking hikes, doing crafts, and spending lots of quality time with Grandma and Papa. Linda was a confidante to many as friends sought truthful advice and a sympathetic ear. Having 3 'favorite' sisters, she leaves them wondering which one was truly her favorite. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Paul, brother, Paul Edward and granddaughter Elisa. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her three children Kim (Ken) Sellick, Brett and Mindy (Jodi); grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Pelfrey and Erica (Casey) Oliver; sisters Cheri McKinney, Janice (Jim) Kelly and Debbie Adkins. Linda loved spending time with her great grandchildren Ella, Ryker, Brody and wishes she had more time with Rylan. Linda was a 1959 graduate of Chillicothe High School and throughout her life she loved the outdoors, Old Man's Cave, hiking with her Dad, connecting with classmates, attending church, the neighborhood (especially Danny, Janan, and Sue), traveling to all of Mindy's games (even with Bob got lost), ice skating, (she skated backwards and did jumps) taking the kids to the city pool, being the coolest Grandma around, and spending time with her great grandkids. Per her request, a balloon-filled celebration with a closed casket for friends and family will be held 4 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with her grandson, Anthony Pelfrey, officiating. Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home from 2 p. m. until time of service on Monday. A private burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, please bring your fond memories and love for Linda to celebrate her life. You may sign her online register at www.warefh.com ... Show More
