Leroy Jacobe passed away after a sudden illness on October 3, 2016, at the age of 84 in Tyler. He was born November 16, 1931, in Rosenberg and was preceded in death by his parents, J V and Roxie Jacobe, Tyler, sister, Johnnie Mae Jackson, Tyler. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margie Odom Jacobe of Tyler, and three sons, John Jacobe and wife Anita of Sachse, Tom Jacobe and wife Kathy of McKinney, and Jimmy Jacobe and wife Donna of Chapel Hill; two grandchildren, Chrissy Vaughn and husband Brian of Wylie, and Stacy Gore and husband, Lynn(Bubba) of Chapel Hill; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Vaughn and Hudson Vaughn of Wylie, and Layne Gore of Chapel Hill; and his brother, Kenneth Jacobe of Chapel Hill. He was retired as the co-owner of Jacobe Brothers Construction Co. of Tyler. Leroy was involved in many civic and religious organizations, such as the Sharon Shrine Temple and most recently the Men of Action. He was actively involved in building churches in the Tyler area as well as in other states and countries. Helping children through the Shriners Hospitals for Children and building churches was his passion. The memorial to celebrate his life is scheduled for October 15, at 2 p.m. at Rose Heights Church in Tyler, with a fellowship following for friends and family.
