Leonal "Stubby" Baker
WALLINGFORD - Leonal "Stubby" Baker, 83, of Wallingford, loving husband of 60 years to Joyce (Harvey) Baker, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Island Falls, Maine on Jan. 7, 1933, a son of the late Peter and Dorothy Pelkey Baker. He graduated from Clairmont High School in New Hampshire in 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951, and was honorably discharged in 1955, after serving in Korea. He worked as a salesman for Geremia Oil Company, and Roman Oil Company. He was a volunteer fireman with the Yalesville Fire Department for 10 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, David Baker and his wife, Judy, Glen Baker and his wife, Lucy, Dean Baker, and Gary Baker and his wife, Heidi; his sisters, Jan Cremo, and Dawn Meister and her husband, Dr. Jack Meister; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Sunday, Oct. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. A service will follow in the funeral home at 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
