Leo A. Bergles Jr.
. RAYMOND - Leo A. Bergles Jr., 84, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee. Born October 12, 1932 in Raymond Township, he was the son of Leopold A. Sr. and Mary (nee Fashun) Bergles. He attended Thompsonville Elementary School and started farming with his mother at the age of 15, and lived his entire life on the family farm. On May 28, 1955 he was united in marriage to Beverly Griffiths at Paris Corners Methodist Church. Together they raised their family of 7 children. Leo was a dairy farmer, retiring in 1995. After retiring he worked part time at South Hills Golf Course and Metro Auto Auction. He was a member of Yorkville United Methodist Church and enjoyed golfing, playing horseshoes and schafkopf with a group of 6 or 7 men every other Wednesday evening; an activity he participated in for about 50 years. He volunteered with the Raymond Fire Department for 25 years and was a member of the NFO for 32 years. Leo is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly; children, Kathleen Carlsen (Al Mueller), Greg (Barbara Bryngelson) Bergles, Joan (Larry) Carlsen, Ricky (Kathleen Rodriguez) Bergles, Carol (Ron) Martin, Gene (Jackie Noonan) Bergles and Lisa Bergles; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Bergles. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ann Schroeder, Helen Spurney, Frank Bergles, Joseph Bergles and Ed Bergles. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Yorkville United Methodist Church or Raymond Fire Department. Services for Leo will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 4:00pm at Yorkville United Methodist Church with Rev. Sue Leih presiding. Friends and family may visit with the family on Sunday, February 19th from 1:00pm until the time of service at Church.
