AMHERST – Lena Dorothy (Bartos) Kopinto, 90, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Elaine Manor, Hadley. She was born June 20,1926, in South Deerfield the daughter of Alexander and Katherine Bartos. Lena graduated fron Deerfield High School in 1945. She then graduated from cosmetology school in Greenfield in 1946. She married Stanley Kopinto on June 2, 1947 and the made their home and raided their family in Amherst. Lena loved gardening, cutting hair, cooking, and her family most of all. One could not enter her home without being greeted by the wafting smells of a delicious meal or desert. She was an exceptional cook who put her love for her family in every meal. When she was not in her home caring for her husband and three sons, she worked at the Beauty Bar in Amherst. Whether by cooking for them, or cutting their hair, or with her smile alone, Lena spent her life loving and caring for her family. Lena is survived by her husband Stanley; three sons, Lester (Gail), Charlie (Jan), and Robert (Karen); four grandchildren, Corey, Alison-Kate, Brian (Audrey), and Jamie; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Sawyer, and Beckett. She is also survived by her sister Kathryn (Chester) of Greenfield. Lena was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters, Albeena , Andrew, Amelia, Frances, William, Josephine, Alexander Jr., Roman, and Edwin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 20, beginning at 9:30 a.m. from the Wrisley Funeral Home, 90 Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. to be celebrated in Holy Family Church, 29 Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield. Lena will be laid to rest at St. Brigids' Cemetery, Rocky Hill Road, Hadley. following the services. Lena will be remembered by those who love her for her kind loving heart and unending devotion to those whom she loved. Heartfelt thanks to the care giving professionals at Elaine Manor, Hadley.
