Lela Gremmels July 13, 1930 - February 13, 2017 Lela Gremmels was born on July 13, 1930, in Chester, Illinois to Herbert Reuscher and Lillian Nordmeyer Reuscher. On July 20, 1930, she was baptized as Lela Carolina Mathilda Reuscher. She was confirmed on April 2, 1944. Her confirmation verse was John 3:16, which states "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." She married Delbert Gremmels on June 6, 1953, in Chester, Illinois. As the wife of a missionary and Army Chaplain, Mrs. Gremmels lived in many cities in the United States and abroad in Taiwan and Germany. Mrs. Gremmels was preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers, Norman Reuscher and Junior William "Smokey" Reuscher, and her husband, Del Gremmels. She is survived by her brother, Reverend Elmer Reuscher (Joyce Reuscher) of Sanford, Florida; daughters, Karen K.G. Cross of Roseville, California, and Molly Bruner (John Bruner) of Grand Junction, Colorado; son, Luther Gremmels (Elizabeth Gremmels) of Livingston, Alabama; four grandchildren, Julia Lombard (Jacob Lombard) of Wilsonville, Oregon; Alex Cross of Goleta, California; Robert Rey (Cile Rey) of Northport, Alabama, and Virginia Gremmels of Livingston, Alabama, and two great-grandchildren, Emma Rey of Northport, Alabama and Ephraim Lombard of Wilsonville, Oregon. Visitation will be on Friday, February 17, 2017, from 9 - 10:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 2004 Pass Road, Biloxi. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church and School of Messiah at 840 North 11th Street in Grand Junction, Colorado 81501.
