Miles, Lawrence Harry Lawrence Harry Miles, 73, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away January 5th, 2017 at his home, after a lengthy battle with many illnesses. He deeply loved his family and they were there with him through the final moments. Lawrence was born in Clear Spring, MD to Anna Mae (Good) Miles and Harry Gardner Miles. He grew up on the family farm with his 2 brothers and 2 sisters milking cows, bailing hay and enjoying the country life. He graduated from Clear Spring High School in 1961 and later Scottsdale Community College. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968. In 1974 he settled in Scottsdale AZ where he worked for many years at Trailways and in Insurance. Lawrence's kind heart and infinite optimism will be dearly missed. He was a gentle loving man who enjoyed traveling and nature. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 12 years, Yvonne, daughter Michele Miles-Ritchie (Wayne Ritchie), sons Matthew Miles (Amy), Michael Miles (Marie), sister Barbara Ann Skipper, brothers Dale (Burma) and Steve (Barb), four grandchildren and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Mae Miles. A military memorial service honoring Larry will be held at 9am on Friday January 13th 2017 at The Military National Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
