In memory of
LaVonne Marie Kistler
At 12:10pm on Monday, February 13, 2017, LaVonne closed her physical eyes for the last time in the comfort of her Boise home due to a sudden illness. She loved Jesus, life, her family, friends, her church, and football (go Seahawks!). She was born October 18, 1939, in Rupert, Idaho. She, with her parents, Herald J. and Laura M. Gough and little sister Leona, made their home in Twin Falls. After graduating from high school in 1957, she attended 2 years at Idaho State University before deciding to go to work at Magic Carpet Travels as a travel agent. She loved traveling the world and sought a career in travel until on June 6, 1963 she married James L. Kistler. Three years later, they had a daughter, Rhonda Joyce. Now with a family, she wanted a career that kept her home and went to work for a local bank in the trust department. LaVonne loved being a mother and socializing with friends. She spent her free time camping, riding motorcycles, watching baseball and football, and was an avid reader. In 1988, LaVonne continued her trust-banking career in Boise with WestOne Bank to be closer to her daughter and future son-in-law. In the "big city," she enjoyed concerts, traveling with friends and family to Albuquerque, NM, the Oregon Coast, Montana, Northern Idaho and Utah. She retired from U.S. Bank in 2000 and enjoyed more free time with her daughter, sister, and friends. In 2003, she began part-time work with Tresco of Idaho as their first official employee. Beginning in 2004, she immersed herself in the life of preparing to be a grandmother with the birth of Lukas Ryan in 2005 and Brockton Randall in 2008. She poured her "heart and soul" into the lives of her grandchildren. She was their champion going to their games, school activities, and speaking love into their lives. She was always guiding her daughter to be the best mother possible. She was so very proud of her little family. She loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. Twenty-five years ago after experiencing a difficult time in her life, God became very real to LaVonne. She gladly accepted His love for her and drew strength and peace from Him through the Word and prayer. For many years she attended Eagle Nazarene Church and immersed herself in Bible studies and volunteered in service of others. In 2016, she chose to be baptized as an example to her grandchildren and to confirm her love for the Lord. LaVonne is survived by her daughter, Rhonda and son-in-law, Randy Yadon; 2 grandchildren, Lukas and Brock of Boise; sister, Leona and brother-in-law, Robin Roberts of Montana; sister (inlaw), Jean Hollifield of Jerome; nephew, Ryan Roberts (Dina); niece, Amy Kline (Dan); 2 greatnieces, Becca and Sarah Roberts all in the Boise area. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support. LaVonne's memorial service will be conducted at 1:30pm Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Eagle Nazarene Church at 101 W. State St. in Eagle, Idaho. A private burial service will follow later this spring at Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise. If friends and family choose to make donations in lieu of flowers, her charities of interest are Eagle Nazarene Church (address above); Gideons International (online); and Hope Foundation (Harrison's Hope Hospice), 3137 S. Meridian Road, Suite 120, Meridian, ID, 83642. Remembrances may be left for the family at
