Lavonda "Loni" Wright
SUN CITY - Lavonda "Loni" Wright passed on peacefully on Dec. 29, 2016, following an illness. She is survived by her sister, Mariam Fleming; two sons, Donald Springer and Michael Springer; and five grandchildren. Loni was born in Wyandotte County, Kan., and was the youngest of four daughters of Dene and Oleta Edgerton. She graduated from Kansas State University, where she played saxophone in the marching band. She moved to the Denver, Colo., area to become an elementary school teacher and subsequently settled in Littleton, Colo., raising a family and working as a wholesale and retail buyer – lastly for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. She was also a very competitive bowler, traveling the country to compete in tournaments. An avid golfer, Loni moved to Sun City in 2001 and quickly embraced the golf culture. She cherished her close friendships here and enjoyed spending time at the American Legion, John J. Morris Post 62. She survived two husbands: TJ Hoffman, and David Wright. A private memorial service was held.
