Larry Ray Stanley Larry Ray Stanley, age 69, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 6:46 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born July 28, 1947, in Durham, North Carolina, the son of William and Helen (Hill) Stanley. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Northern High School in Durham, North Carolina, and graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1970 and again in 1978. He was a turkey hatchery manager for 30 years in Missouri, Texas, and North Carolina including at Cuddy Farms (Aurora, MO) and Tarheel (Raeford, NC.) He was an elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora, and past member of the Aurora City Council and the Aurora Rotary Club. On October 7, 1983, he married Debbie Sumners, in Aurora. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debbie; daughter Megan Schiller and her husband, Andy and their daughter, Katy Schiller of Aurora; his mother, Helen Stanley and sister, Linda Stanley both of Durham, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Pete Sumners and his significant other, Melissa Bilyeu, of Aurora and an aunt, uncle, nephew, nieces and cousins. His father, William and father and mother in-law, Junior and Sammie Sumners, preceded him in death. A memorial service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora. Burial will be at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora at a later date. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
