Larry D. Munch 1945—2016 Larry D. Munch, 71, of Rockford joined our Lord in heaven on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. He was born May 30, 1945, in Sycamore, the son of Donald and Barbara Munch. Larry graduated from Kirkland High School and then served his country by joining the U.S. Army as a diesel mechanic and heavy equipment operator. While stationed in Germany, he fell in love with Karin Klein and they married on December 18, 1964. After the army, he started farming with his family and for the past twenty years he worked at Cooling's Sod Farm as the shop supervisor. Larry enjoyed fishing and cherished spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Karin of Rockford; five children, James (Lisa) of Loves Park, Christopher of Rockford, Jeffrey (Amy) of Kernersville, NC, Michael (Caramie) of Sycamore, and Celena (Jeremy) Tangerose of Winnebago; grandchildren, Peyton, Spencer, Ryan, Gabrielle, Linnea, Hunter, Mickey, Alexis, Evan, Tyler, Chandler and Trevor; siblings, Ken (Judy) of Montana, Steve (LuAnne) of Winnebago, Donna (Mark) Warner of South Carolina, Jane (Dave) Klenke of Sycamore, and Tracy (Desiree) of Belvidere. Larry was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Bart. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel.
