Larry "Chief" Morris EAST PEORIA - CMSGT Larry "Chief" Morris, 75, of East Peoria passed away at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Snyder Village in Metamora. He was born May 14, 1941, in Rock Falls, IL, to Lawrence E. and Lucille Bryant Morris. He married Georgia White in Sterling, IL, on June 27, 1964. She survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Loraine "Lori" (Boyd) Schenck, Penny (Mike) Gale and Cheri (Raymond) Roberts; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; and sister, Florence Ann Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Jo. Larry was with the Peoria Air National Guard for 35 years, retiring in 1994 as Chief Master Sergeant, being one of the youngest to achieve that rank. He was a member of the Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp since its inception in 2004 and served as a founding board member. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp at 2000 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Ste. 16, Peoria, IL 61615. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. His funeral service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home, with further visitation one hour before services from 10 to 11 a.m. Private burial will be at a later date.
