Lacy W. Lilly
Lilly, Lacy W., Mr. Lacy W. Lilly, age 86, of Louisville returned to his Heavenly Father on October 15, 2016 after a long illness. He was born to Owen E. Lilly and Mildred Anna Greer on September 22, 1930, in Tamroy, West Virginia. Mr. Lilly was a retired mechanical engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Louisville 2nd Ward, having served as bishop, temple sealer and many other positions of responsibility. Among those that preceded him in death include his parents; first wife, Sharon Lee Howard Lilly; grandson, Nathan Bohn; and great-grandson, Truman Virgil Bohn. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara Micklick Lilly; children, Virginia Kay Bohn (Perry), Carol Hedrick (Rodney), David Lilly (Andrina), Robert Lilly (Lisa), Sheila Duncan (Jim), Janie Whitaker (Skip) and Sandra Brewer (Clayton); 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Stiles, of Sarasota, FL; stepsister, Mary Sue Custer, Johnstown, PA; and a host of family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted at 3 pm on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Stake Center (1000 S. Hurstbourne Parkway Louisville, KY 40222) with interment in Lilly Cemetery in Ghent, West Virginia on Saturday at 2 pm. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 2-8 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) and Friday from 12-3 pm at the church.
