Kent G. Savoie Grand Coteau - Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Kent G. Savoie, age 58, who passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at his residence in Broussard. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington, pastor of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Kent G. Savoie was a talented Architect graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL). He was employed with Pellerin & Wallace, Inc and organized demolition and reconstructive work. His forte was building hospitals, which include Ochsners Hospital in Baton Rouge and Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette and restored St. Landry Orphanage. He enjoyed traveling and learning from those around him. He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Kent was a generous and loving son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed life and lived life to the fullest and loved dancing and being with friends and family. Survivors include three brothers, Glenn Savoie and his wife, Cheryl, and Kenny G. Savoie and his wife, Sherry, all of Sunset and Darrel J. Savoie of San Antonio, TX; three sisters, Carline Mary and Sheila Patton both of Baton Rouge and Alane Savoie of Greenville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolen G. Savoie and the former Rita Mae Stelly; and one brother-in-law, Peter Mary. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home by Geneva Breaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
