Kenneth J. Snerr
Kenneth J. Snerr Kenneth J. "Kenny" Snerr Sr. of Jim Thorpe passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, in the Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton. He was married to Melissa (Ritter) Snerr. The couple celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last November. Born in Lehighton on September 10, 1967, he was a son to George and Carolyn (Lepak) Snerr of Jim Thorpe. Kenny was a 1985 graduate of Marian High School. He attended Elizabethtown University before starting his career in law enforcement. He became an officer for Temple University, then moved on to the Carbon County Prison as a guard, and entered into the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1991, becoming a state trooper and serving with Troop N Fern Ridge. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe, the Knights of Columbus, the Masonic Lodge and F.O.P. Surviving in addition to his widow and parents are his children, Kenneth J. "KJ" Jr., Caroline and Elizabeth, all at home; two sisters, Nancy, wife of Todd Smith of Jim Thorpe, and Wendy, wife of Michael Farrell of West Chester; and two brothers, George Jr. of Jim Thorpe and Steven, and his wife, Jennifer (Ott), of Etters, PA. Service: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe. Interment, parish cemetery, Jim Thorpe.
